The impetus of this change was the author’s company, Metropolitan Life, having recently started issuing ordinary life policies on an age last birthday basis, the rational being the use of age nearest birthday had led to policyholder confusion and misunderstanding. Description: Variable life insurance asset shares involve, in general, both the separate account and the general account. This paper develops, for both accounts, under the New York Life design, the annual asset share equations of equilibrium for the separate account asset share, for the general account asset share, for the basic reserve, and for the surplus and also derives the individual expressions for the interest and mortality contributions to the surplus. Description: The Committee's charge was to develop new disability tables for possible adoption by appropriate authorities for valuation of individual policy reserves, i.e. active life reserves, and individual and group claim reserves for disabled lives. It was generally agreed that the current valuation table, the 1964 Commissioner’s Disability Table, ‘1964 CDT,’ was no longer appropriate for several reasons.
